Low Carb Pizza Chip Recipe
What Is A Pizza Chip?
The pizza chip or a pizza crisp was made famous by the Keto diet movement or a low carb diet. They are sometimes called Keto chips but as the trend caught on pizza lovers of all kinds have adopted the pizza chip as a great snack. The chip consists primarily of cheese and pepperoni cooked at a high enough temperature that the cheese becomes crispy.
What Is the Best Cheese To Use?
For this recipe, you can use your favorite cheese but a lower moisture cheese is going to work better and become crispier. For ours we used shredded parmesan and a little bit of mozzarella on top. Parmesan is a very dry cheese so it works best in making a harder crisp.
Ingredients:
- Parmesan and Mozzarella
- Pepperoni
- Pinch of Pepper
Directions:
1. Prepare parchment paper or a well-greased baking pan. We used the Pizzacraft Aluminum Deep Dish Pan to be used in the Pronto Pizza Oven for higher heat.
2. Place a 2-inch diameter amount of parmesan cheese in a small mound. You may add a different cheese to this base if you prefer, we added a small amount of mozzarella for extra flavor.
3. Add 2 or 3 small pepperonis to the top of the cheese and a pinch of pepper.
4. Place in the Pizzeria Pronto Pizza Oven at 400-450º F or medium heat. Cook until the cheese begins to crisp and brown around the edges - about 5-7min.
5. Enjoy as a low-carb snack with your favorite pizza sauce.
